Nariman Point, Mumbai

Nariman Point, Mumbai. Mesmerizing. Enchanting. Awesome. These adjectives may not fully do justice to this place. I have been coming here for the whole of the past week for my new job and I yet can’t get enough of this place. Every time I see the Versace and Jimmy Choo showrooms, The Taj, The Sky scrapers and the vast unbound sea, I am awestruck like a kid led to a house full of candies.

Image                There is something about this place which makes me look forward to come here everyday for work! Local Trains gave me cold feet but now, I don’t mind the distance or the travelling in locals to reach here. I am as eager as a child going for a picnic. Each time I pass through the adjacent road from the sea, I can’t help but gaze at the clandestine beauty.

Being born and brought up in Mumbai, one may think why do I feel so exhilarated on being at Nariman point, which is like a weekend spot for the people living in suburbs. But there is something different about coming to work here, daily. There are people around, in crisp white formals, who diligently go to work daily with a professional look on their faces, dealing with crores. The same people have chaat on the roads in the evening with a smile plastered on their face and eyes twinkling. The streets are so colourful and Mercs and BMWs have never been more “common”. Not only the materialistic aspect, but this part of Mumbai is away from the hustle bustle yet very lively. There is competition on the exterior yet there is peace within. This place has a life of its own. Not one moment you find your energy levels dipping. This may exactly mean when they say the work surroundings are directly proportional to your efficiency levels! The zing is in the pure air that the sea blesses Nariman point with.

I am lucky to have got an opportunity to work here. It was never on my wishlist to get a job here, but when I started here, I never imagined I was missing so much in life. It is, by far, the most beautiful place in the world for me!
