….with lots of dancing, fun, careless banter, food, cards and FRIENDS!!! Yes, so the last night of 2013 was spent in awesomeness. We partied the night away and bought in the new year by arranging a private party at a friend’s terrace. Now, I have my reasons when I say that house parties are the best, at least on 31st December when the whole world is out in the clubs dancing the night away.
We had been to one such party at a five star in the suburbs of Mumbai last year and it was nothing short of being horrible. And that too, when we had spent a bomb on procuring couple passes for the event. The only saving grace was the music. But the food was pathetic, the place too crowded and the people losing their senses. It was like you are clubbing into a Virar local! Exaggerating? No!! It seriously was the worst night out. We even rushed out and had dinner at a restaurant near the airport which is open till wee hours of the morning. Yes. It was THAT bad that we did not even wait to gobble the inedible food.
This year, better sense prevailed and we arranged a house party. The plusses are that you get to spend it with your favourite gang of close friends and no strangers! The food you order is of your choice and taste. The music is a compilation of your favourite tracks and the people around are warm and the ones you can be yourself. The cake ordered was delicious and gobble worthy. When we had enough of dancing, we played cards till wee hours of the morning and had a couple of heart to heart discussions.
What a bliss it was to bring in the new year in the arms of Mr. Husband with eyes so lovey dovey that made me weak in my knees. The Brother (my dancing star) around with loads of warm hugs. And bestest friends sealing an unsaid promise of togetherness. The best moments in life can only be felt.
It is yet another thing that partying till early morning had a toll on the body clock and the entire 1st day of the new year passed in a daze. To which I thought, “Am I getting old?” Night outs are giving me headaches and I pity Mr. Husband who had a working day on 1st! Sigh! He crashed as soon as he finished dinner just to wake up the next day. But all this, will never take the fun away from the night that 31.12.2013 was!!
A toast raised to the fabulous 2013. Cheers to 2014!! Stay Blessed guys!
