The Young Samaritans

These days all we hear are stories about blasts, murders and other gory crimes! The ones committing them are messengers of hell and make the world a dungeon! 😐 When you are utterly disappointed about the miserable surroundings, the universal force gives you a ray of hope to make you believe that the world is not only filled with hatred!

I don’t believe in tell-tales. I am myself testimony to these incidents. I thought to pass on the message of good and share it with you all! I strongly believe in Karma and the fact that good deeds are never wasted. So, over time, I developed the habit of trying to help people by whatever little I can do!

There was this friend’s dad who was in need of B -ve blood since he met with a terrible accident and lost a lot of blood. A -ve RH factor is always difficult to find and also, they needed in fresh and not from stored bottles! She passed on a desperate help message to everyone in her contacts. I provided her with the contact of an NGO – Blood In Need.

Another time, a friend’s dad required urgent fresh blood since he was to undergo a bypass surgery! Again a -ve RH factor they needed. I helped them with the same NGO’s contact. This NGO contacted and found out donors for the patients! πŸ™‚ Both the times! πŸ™‚

This should be specially mentioned that this NGO is not operated by any politician or actor; but is the set up of a group of youths wanting to make the world a better place to live in! I know this because one of the admins of this group is the spouse of a dear friend! These people are as much a part of the aam junta as you and me. The middle class, job oriented professionals, running with the speed of Mumbai to earn a living! Yet they are many notches above us!!

When one cribs about the lack of time and the job stress they face, these Samaritans strive to improve their efficiency each second! After a hard day at work, when all we want is to slump our asses on the couch and watch TV; these people organise meetings and brainstorming sessions. When we are reluctant to leave our air conditioned desks and meeting rooms in offices; these are the ones running all over Mumbai (in between their jobs) to provide fresh blood to the needy through a chain of network they have made over the years!

Such people make you believe in Selflessness. They make you hold on to the last ray of hope that depicts the world in a fair light! They strive to strengthen your belief on Godliness! πŸ™‚ No one asked me to advertise them on this blog! They have a pot full of goodness themselves and they do not need marketing! I did this post because my friends got helped and I was touched by the devotion of these people. I want them to know – I SALUTE and I APPRECIATE!!! Hats off and God Bless! πŸ˜€

Saving lives when there are hundreds of others who are hell bent on taking lives; surely counts as a great deed!

PS: We can help them in their quest to save lives by registering as a donor on their website. They may contact us in case a critical patient needs a donor which matches our group. I just did. Will you??
