When life blesses you with abundance

               All of us have a time in our life, when a single choice is so significant that it changes the course of your journey. Be it in relationships or careers, the one turning point decides it all! But what happens when you have so many options to choose from, that it confuses you and drives you crazy? Well, some people may feel elated to be blessed with so many choices. Even I would have been, if this was just hypothetical and not actually happening. As it is rightly said, the grass is always greener on the other side.

                Today, I am at a point in my career, that a single choice can make or break it. After 4 interviews – two with brand Indian firms, one with a huge multinational bank and one with an upcoming family firm, I am confused which one to take on. To complicate it further, the current organization I work with, also wants to retain me! Anybody, who’s looking for a job change, would give anything to swap places with me at this moment. But I feel choked!

               Don’t know which one to choose from or to stay back in the same firm, to which I am deeply attached and in the one where I am valued so much! The question that haunts me again and again – will I be able to move out of my comfort zone, leave my colleagues of 2 years, the canteen gossips, the best friends I have made here, and the lessons I have learnt here! Will I be able to create my identity in a total new company and start from scratch?! I have never been afraid to adjust or adapt to changes. It is just that, I am a little weak in the emotional department and get attached to people very soon. Also, initially being an introvert, people tend to mistake my nature for arrogance and that gets me into trouble. So, moving out of my ‘comfort zone’ and self made cocoon seems like a task, not many will understand.

               Nonetheless, if I tick the positives, the challenge I need to face and the opportunities coming my way are incentives in taking the decision. When life blesses you with abundance, it is important to weigh the pros and cons and not get carried off by the mere opulence of it. And still, I am proud to have at least cracked the interviews. Let’s see, where it takes me from here. Well, all I can say is – Wish Me Luck! 🙂
